Psychological Services Overview

I'm a licensed psychologist (PSY26136) in California serving adults struggling with stress and/or questions about life choices and meaning. My practice focuses on helping people explore deeper aspects of themselves while using these insights to live a fuller, more meaningful and value-driven life.

Although I can see all California residents virtually via video telehealth, I am currently also offering outdoors, in-person appointments to people located in the San Francisco to Palo Alto area. As an added bonus, these meetings offer an opportunity to reconnect with the Bay Area's beautiful natural surroundings.

Individual Psychotherapy

I offer individual psychotherapy to adults living in California either via HIPAA-compliant telehealth or in my Palo Alto office. My clinical expertise includes depression, anxiety, trauma and posttraumatic stress,  substance use, and psychedelic integration support.

I also have specific cultural competency in working with sexual and gender identity exploration (particularly lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, LGBTQ+). Many of my clients are actively undergoing the coming out process, navigating complex relationships, and/or reconciling conflicts between religious beliefs, culture(s) of origin, and their personal identity and experience.

Consultation & Advisory Boards

Providing consultation to my colleagues and other professionals is an enriching aspect of my practice. I have provided interdisciplinary supervision in the past, and I am particularly equipped to provide consultation related to psychedelic integration, existential anxiety and themes, psychospiritual development, trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, and personality. I have also served on multiple advisory boards, including that of Psychedelic Support.

Personal Growth & Creativity

In addition to helping people cope with stress and symptoms, I also strongly focus on aiding people in exploring various aspects of their minds, personality, personal values, life direction, and creativity. I deeply enjoy providing guidance and support around creative appreciation, expression, and problem-solving. These services rely on my expertise in personality and psychospiritual development across the lifespan as well as my experience as a writer and book author.

I work with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds, religious perspectives, and agnostic or atheistic worldviews. My approach is largely informed by Carl Jung, Joseph Campbell, and various existential thinkers.

Public Speaking & Training

Beyond direct clinical services, I often give lectures and trainings to diverse audiences on advanced topics related to psychedelic integration, posttraumatic stress, LGBTQ+ care, and psychospiritual issues. Personality theory and existential concerns around loss, death, loneliness, and meaning are two constant threads that tie together my diverse interests and areas of expertise. My most recent book, Beyond the Narrow Life, synthesizes these topics in a guided manner that includes journaling, meditations, and creative exercises.
